Is Visco fuse appropriate for cannons?

It has a black powder core surrounded by woven material and a protective coating. That construction helps it burn steadily and resist ordinary moisture.
However, not every cannon is designed for Visco fuse. Large reproduction cannons, signal cannons and competition artillery may require a specific fuse, friction primer or electrical ignition system. Follow the cannon maker’s manual and applicable range rules. If the documentation does not expressly approve safety fuse for cannons, ask the manufacturer before firing.

What millimeter cannon fuse should you choose?

Quick fuse is not a substitute for ordinary cannon fuse. A product burning in fractions of a second per foot may provide almost no useful retreat time. Specialty effect fuses, homemade fuse, damaged fuse and unidentified remnants are also poor choices for cannon ignition.
Is the fuse compatible with black powder?
Use only genuine safety fuse for cannons whose manufacturer approves fuse ignition. The fuse must reliably transmit fire through the vent without requiring splicing, improvised coatings or alterations.
Keep cannon fuse dry and protected from abrasion. Cut it only with a suitable non-sparking fuse cutter, away from black powder and the cannon. Never hold, reposition or relight a burning fuse, and follow the manufacturer’s misfire procedure rather than approaching the cannon immediately.
